The Helping Hand

The semi-secret organization known as the Brightstar Company was founded in 904 III by Amunhet, a priest of Giardain. It has managed to survive into the Fourth Age, having members scattered all across the Western Lands. These individuals are dedicated to battling evil and keeping goodly civilized places safe. Brightstar Wanderers are the "field agents" of the organization, acting directly to gather intelligence and eliminate threats to the greater good. The members are usually wizards, bards, rangers, rogues or priests - all devotees of Giardian, Brunir, Sirine or Thilias - and all possessing the diversity of skill and ability necessary to become Brightstar Wanderers. Barbarians, fighters, sorcerers and paladins rarely become Brightstar Wanderers because they lack the subtlety for the work.

Spells per Day / Spells Known: Starting at second level and every level after that the Brightstar Wanderer progresses in a selected spellcasting class. When the player first chooses this prestige class if they have multiple spellcasting classes they choose which one they advance in.

Knowledge of Realms: Like a bard, a Brightstar Wanderer has a knack for picking up odds and ends of knowledge. This ability works exactly like the bardic knowledge ability of the bard class. If a Brightstar Wanderer has bard levels, the character's Brightstar Wanderer levels and bard levels stack for bardic knowledge.

Sirine's Favour: Brightstars are believed to be blessed by a goodly number of deities. The Wanderer finds the blessing of Sirine upon them wherever their feet might take them. At 1st level, the Brightstar gains a +1 bonus on all saving throws as well as a +1 luck bonus to Armor Class.

Bonus Feat: The Brightstar Wanderer is a person of many skills and crafts with knowledge pooled from some of the most adept and diverse adventurers across Charun. Contact with these people has taught the already perceptive Wanderer skills that might have otherwise have been beyond him. At 2nd level, the Brightstar Wanderer thus gains a bonus feat.

Thilias' Ward: Invested by blessing on the Wanderer's sigil, Thilias blesses the craft of Brightstar symbols against the workings of other crafts that might be attributed to him. Thus at 3rd level, the Wanderer receives a +3 saving throw bonus vs. traps.

Track: Having travelled many seasons and terrains the Wanderer has become adept at reading nature signs and tracks left by friend and foe, to better follow, explore and chase, when the need might be. Thus at 4th level, the Wanderer gaings the Track Feat.

Giardain's Blessing: The blessings of Giardain fall upon the Wanderer, strengthening him against the trials of both road and spirit, warding him against the magics of death, domination and weakness. Thus at 5th level, the Wanderer gains a +1 bonus to Fortitude and Will saving throws, as well as a +1 bonus to any saving throw versus Death magic.
