Greeting: Hail
Farewell: Stay strong

Greeting gesture: Slamming the right fist on the left side of the chest is both a display of strength by the one conducting the gesture, as well as a sign of respect to the one adressed.

Example of ingame emoting: *he slams his right fist into his chest* Hail. I am Leikrbjorn.

Elf

Elves have four different ways of greeting or taking farewell from someone, all depending on who they are adressing. They usually take great care in adressing persons in the correct manner, since not doing so can be seen as an insult - especially between elves. Any elf adressing someone like the King of Green Glade would thus be expected to do so through a formal manner.

Neutral: The "neutral" phrases are usually used when the person adressed is a possible foe, someone not to be respected or simply a stranger who is still to reveal his persona. A person encountered for the first time could thus be greeted in a neutral manner, but taken farewell from in a polite manner.

Polite: The "polite" phrases are used when adressing friendly acquaintances, or persons that should gain respect for some reason. A person introduced by a common friend would fall under this category, as would a priest of a respected faith, or a representative of some other respected organisation. Elves of other cultures are usually adressed in a polite manner, would they not fall under the "friendly" or "formal" categories.

Friendly: The "friendly" phrases are used among the members of the same elven culture and when adressing close friends. It would require a great deal of respect, trust and friendship for an elf to adress someone outside of his own kin in a friendly manner.

Formal: The "formal" phrases are used during formalities or when greeting someone highly respected. It can also be used as a display of the speakers alligiance to the person greeted. It is usually the quest or the "lowest ranking" person who is the first to greet.

ELVEN GESTURES:

Respect: Touching the right hand fingertips to the forehead while bowing the head slightly connotates "Respect." This is used when meeting or leaving someone in combination with polite, friendly or formal phrasing.

Example of ingame emoting: *touches forehead with the right hand fingertips and bows head* A star shall shine on the hour of our meeting.
